Through God, all things are possible. Even weightloss.

Due to the fact that my job is only a 10 month position, I had to make some changes. I am currently saving every penny I have so that Charlotte and I can survive during the summer without having to get a second job. My current job has the same hours as the students do- which is awesome because I get the whole summer off.

But alas, no more WeightWatchers. I really believe in their program, but it's just an extra expense that I'd rather not pay for right now.

The fantastic news, is that since I've started my own program with Angie... I've done even better than I did when I was on WeightWatchers! I have a food journal that will take me through approximately 60 weeks. I fill in everything that eat for the day, and though I watch fat and carbs, I only calculate calories.

I make sure to eat at least 5 servings of vegetables and fruits a day, drink plenty of water, no soda, very limited sugar, and pretty much eat 5 times a day under 1700 calories. I highlight vegetables in green, fruit in pink, and water in blue. If the page for the day is not colorful, then I know I've had an off day. I have never done anything like this before with an actual food log.. and I have to say, using bright colorful highlighters not only makes it fun, but it's psychological. Seeing no color on paper during a meal makes me just feel gross now!

Anyway, I'm having fun tracking, and last week's first weigh in I lost 4 lbs. I weighed myself for the first time this week, and it looks like I'm at least another 3 lbs. down!

God has really helped me use willpower, and given me the strength that I need to do this. I feel so much better already!

D.D.R. I love you.

Dance Dance Revolution: A sure fire way to lose weight.

Back in 2009, I lost 50 lbs. It started with a morning cardio routine of DDR- followed by a healthy diet and WILL POWER. I gained all the weight back through a rough pregnancy due to my baby daddy issues, and then found it very hard to find the motivation to do it all over again. Once I found the motivation, I started Weight Watchers (a plan designed to change your lifestyle. It's not just a diet). But I couldn't exercise hardly at all, due to plantar fasciitis... caused by my rapid weight gain. Vicious cylce!

So- I finally decided to just deal with the excruciating pain. I've started some daily foot exercises to help stretch the tendon, and I bought a foam mat to put under my dance pad. That all being said: 1 week in and I lost 4.8 lbs.

Saaaaweeeeeet!!! Thank you DDR!

15 never tasted so good

I have officially lost 15 lbs. I think I will celebrate by eating this tasty recipe from weight watchers: Three Bean and Pork Slow Cooker Chili!

Dear Jack in the box

Last night was my "fat meal for the week." As I left church, I saw McDonalds on the right hand side of the road, and Jack in the box on the left hand side of the road. I thought to myself "I haven't had that in a while" so I pulled into your driveway. After looking at your menu for a few minutes, I decided to get the new ultimate spicy chicken outlaw sandwhich. With bbq sauce, fried onion rings, on top of the best spicy chicken sandwich besides chick-fil-a, how could you go wrong?

This is how. Due to your poor service, my sister got the wrong sandwhich, and so we split our meals, because she needs to gain weight as it is. And your measley little hamburger with no condiments that replaced her sourdough chicken sandwich was no match for her appetite. Also, I should probably mention that your curly fries were stale and nowhere close to being hot or even warm.

I had been fasting all day though, so I thanked God for the food He provided for us, even though it may not have been what we expected. I was thankful for the food. However, I was not thankful for the heartburn I recieved.

All in all, I have decided A) not to eat fast food at night anymore, and B) if I do indulge myself with a fat meal, it will not be coming from Jack in the box.

Thank you (for nothing but added fat).

All in all though, I am 2.2 lbs down from last week! So far, it's a slow loss, but I'm losing, and that's what matters. That, and a healthier lifestyle. I'm excited to go on a walk with Charlotte today in her new Jeep 3 wheel stroller, it's a beautiful day!

For Charlotte

Every time I have been on a diet in the past, the only times I lost weight was when I had motivation. It was usually a boy. Or competition. However, once the competition was over, I gained all the weight back. I had the wrong attitude, which was "Alright! I'm done!" This is my mission now: change my life. The inside has changed for good (see my other blog) and now it's time for my outside to change for good. I weighed in yesterday, and I have a total weight loss of 8.6 lbs. It's a much slower loss than ever before, but I'm ok with that. Because Charlotte is my motivation.

More to come...

Blogging has always worked for me (when I actually have internet access, and thanks to my new job I do!). Anyone who knows me knows that I have struggled my whole life with my weight. I tried to diet by doing things my way after I had my daughter, it worked before... but it didn't work this time around. I'm not sure why, but I do know that I had a lot less motivation. My wonderful pastor's wife encouraged me to join weight watchers with her, and since it has always worked for me in the past, I decided to give it a shot. We figured out our budget at home so that I could make this monthly expense, and I am already close to 8 lbs. down! Pics and more to come!
